The Bible is clearly an important aspect of Christianity.

As the Word of God, it is a major way of believers to learn more about the creator, what it means to be a Christian and so much more.

It goes without saying that it should be studied a lot in order for the believer to grow in their faith. Sadly, this is not the case.

A new poll by the Church of England shows that majority of its members do not read the Bible, Telegraph reports.
The figures, produced by ComRes (a UK polling company), showed that 60 percent of the Church’s members have never read the Bible.
It also showed that only 6 percent of Christians across all denominations read the Bible.
This poll was carried out on 8,150 GB British adults aged 18+ online between 17th and 31st March 2017.

Here in Nigeria, things are not so different. A little survey showed that things are about the same.
Out of five people, only one person reads the Bible on a daily basis.

The remaining fall between one to three times per week.

It is quite sad that this is the reality of a lot of Christians when you consider the benefits of Bible study.
These include offering a daily dose of God's promises, love, peace, thus guarding you from doubts, basically making you a better Christian with a more intimate relationship with the Heavenly Father.

Reading the Bible regularly guarantees that our souls are nourished. Why would anyone not want that?
