Leading dealers groups are investing in their Volkswagen van businesses to reflect buoyant new van sales in recent years and a growing used car parc.

Inchcape has opened a Volkswagen van authorised repairer workshop on Trafford Park in Manchester. The 21,000 sq ft facility, the largest in the UK, features 16 service ramps and an MOT facility

The Agnew Group has opened a Van Centre in Newtonabbey, Northern Ireland next to Agnew Volkswagen Passenger Cars.

Marshall Motor Group Holdings has invested in the redevelopment of the Marshall Van Centre in Reading.

The Lancaster Volkswagen van centre in Loughton and the Swansway business in Wrexham have also had makeovers.

Richard Blunden, national network development manager for Volkswagen commercial vehicles, said the investment showed the network’s commitment to business.

The van centres have individual dealer agreements with the brand, which are separate from VW Passenger Cars, and the brands have different franchising teams at head office.
